ECL Elite Champions League Season

This is the elite goalunited competition which includes all champions of the National Division 1 Leagues.
The start of each season is at the beginning of the new season (first Thursday).
The champions are divided into league competitions which start in 9 groups of 9 teams (Groups A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I) totalling maximum of 81 clubs participating in the preliminary round (group phase 1).
After 16 matches (home and away), top 3 from each of 9 groups and the next best 4 teams qualify for the final tournament.
The champion from the previous season qualifies for the final tournament automatically.
This means that in the final tournament competition, 32 teams play in the group phase (8 groups of 4) and then later in the knockout phase.
In the ultimate final the champion will be decided.
This competition lasts for a whole season in two turns. Manual confirmation of participation is required.
Rules:
One manager can only have 1 club participating in the whole competition.
If the manager has multiple champion clubs who qualified from different leagues, the manager is obligated to choose the club that is participating in GU ECL. In such a case the team he didn’t choose will play in GU Bronze League, and the team originally qualified for Bronze League (2nd placed) in that league will participate in GU ECL.
Each qualifying manager will be sent one invite that will included the details of the team that has qualified, please make sure that you are logged into the correct club before accepting the invite. The invite must be accepted within 48 hours of it being sent, if not the invite will be passed on to another team. If a manager accepts the invite late then they may be disqualified from the competition for that season. In the case a manager has not logged in by the following day that the invitation was sent, the deadline for accepting the invite will be extended. Any manager not accepting the invite will result in a permanent ban. If a manager accepts with the wrong club this club may be withdrawn from the competition or changed to the correct club or left as is depending on the workload of the dev team at that time and may result in a banning of participation of that manager the next time they qualify for an ECL competition. If any manager is deemed to have participating in match fixing the previous league season or breaking any of the games rules will get a permanent ban from all GU ECL competitions.
In case that manager who already participates in GU ECL holds a club who qualified for Bronze League but due to switching got the spot for GU ECL, in that case the spot qualifying for GU ECL due switching goes to next in line until GU ECL competition is properly populated.
The same is applicable vice versa in case of GU Bronze League.
If the previous GU ECL champion is also a champion in their League 1, the free spot acquired for final 32 round goes to the next in line which means that 2nd place club in that league gets a qualification spot for the preliminary round. All other applicable rules apply as well and if no ultimate replacement club can be found, GU Team reserves the right to make the ultimate decision according to fair play.
The handicap is not activated. Half time cards can be played.
Matches are played 3 times per week, Monday, Thursday and Sunday.
Rewards in Preliminary group phase:
Each position rewards GU STARS at the end of the competition, where the Preliminary League phase (groups A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I) will pay GU STARS from positions 1 to 9 in each group.
1 - 3000 GU STARS
2 - 2000 GU STARS
3 - 1000 GU STARS
4 - 900 GU STARS
5 - 800 GU STARS
6 - 700 GU STARS
7 - 600 GU STARS
8 - 500 GU STARS
9 - 400 GU STARS
Rewards in the final tournament:
Group winners after 6 matches and 2nd placed receive 1000 each while 3rd and 4th receive 500 GU STARS each.
Knockout phase
Last 16 pay the winners with 1500 GU STARS and losing teams with 750 GU STARS.
Quarter finals pay the winners with 2000 GU STARS and losing teams with 1000 GU STARS.
Semi-finals pay the winners 3000 GU STARS and losing teams receive 1500 GU STARS
Finals winner receives 30.000 GU STARS and the losing team (2nd place) gets 15.000 GU STARS.
Note: Rewards are paid after the second match (home and away) in each of the knockout phases.
Important:
This is the sixteenth season of GU:ECL, Any change for future seasons is not excluded.
All matches are played in Custom-made United competitions, this means there is no negative effect on players. Half time cards can be played.
